Meghan is a psychotherapist, educator, and trauma specialist with over twenty years of experience working at the intersection of attachment, complex trauma, and embodied healing.

Her work is grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship — not only in the therapy room, but in the spaces among clinicians, communities, and systems. She holds a deep committment to supporting individuals, couples, and professionals in healing the relational wounds that shape present-day functioning.

Meghan approaches treatment from a place of curiosity, respect, and trust in the human capacity for connection and repair - and ultimately a return to self.

Meghan is a psychodynamic/relational therapist, with extensive training in complex trauma and dissociation, including incorporating body-centered interventions. I am trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Levels I & II) and am currently pursuing advanced training in Deep Brain Reorienting.

Meghan's clinical experience spans outpatient therapy, family systems work, medical environments, and an outpatient trauma center.

Meghan Reilly, LCSW

We deeply respect and trust that the intimate relationship between therapist and client is co-created and crucial to healing. This tender opportunity to use connection and "being seen" by a present-centered and attuned therapist is an access route to better knowing oneself.

Alison believes that authenticity is essential for meaningful encounters, and brings her full self to each session. She engages openly and honestly with you as she carefully listens, reflects and responds to what you bring to the treatment. She believes in the fundamental importance of the relationship with you, and that together you will both nurture the unfolding work of therapy.

We exist in the context of a layered and complex world, and the personal is political. Everyone is worthy of knowing that their therapist supports their right to existence. As a relational therapist, Alison partners with you on your journey and actively work with you toward your goals in a way that is manageable and meaningful. She is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Feminist Theory and incorporates these theories as she helps you find ways to understand, cope with and impact their emotions and experiences.

She loves working with folks who desire change and are seeking an active therapist to support them in their daily life toward building the life they want. She works with people struggling with anxiety, depression life transitions, fertility challenges, postpartum and parenting, and developmental trauma.

She is deeply committed to her own development as a psychotherapist and actively engages in ongoing training, supervision and community.

In addition to her clinical practice, Meghan is a trainer, consultant, and educator. She co-created a long-running two-year trauma training program, created and facilitates The Relational Lab, for both early years and advanced therapists committed to deepening their capacities as relational therapists, teaches Couples and Relationship Therapy at the University of Chicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work and provides local and national trainings for many organizations, including the March of Dimes.

Meghan is a volunteer therapist and co-Clinical Director of the Chicago Chapter of A Home Within, a national organization that provides free, long-term and trauma-informed therapy to anyone who has spent any time in foster care.

Practice Mission

Our practice is grounded in a commitment to ethical mental health treatment across a wide range of presenting concerns, with a speciality in the treatment of trauma. This includes an ongoing commitment to deconstructing implicitly held biases and acknowledging the impact of systems of oppression and the harm and suffering they cause individuals, families and communities. Our practice seeks to contribute to the growth of a more compassionate humanity, where each of us has equitable access to resources (including anti-oppressive mental health treatment) for a life of presence with joy.
